Full Description
This 8-hour course utilizes the MODFS exterior training props and combines classroom instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on skills training. It prepares students to safely and effectively respond to common exterior fire scenarios. Topics covered include size-up, hose stream management, car fires, dumpster fires, gas cylinder fires, and flammable liquid fires. The course features a lecture and practical format, including live fire training evolutions using mobile fire training props. It provides fundamental live fire experience for new firefighters and serves as a refresher for experienced personnel.

Course Objectives: Upon completion, students will have the knowledge and skills needed to respond safely and effectively at the Firefighter I level for live exterior fire incidents.

Student Pre-requisites: None.

Host agencies provide a pumper, water supply and an air refill station.

Students provides turnout gear and SCBA

DFS provides the exterior fire props.
