Class Vendor: This class is available for contracted delivery from Local Emergency Training Specialist (LETS). Contracted Price: $6500.

Boat fires are becoming a normal emergency response. Different tactics and operations are needed. Marine Firefighting for Land-Based Firefighters and Small Boats was developed for inland based fire agencies protecting bodies of water and riverways.

For this class presentation, Small Fireboats are considered less than 50’ with a single
pump often associated with inland lakes and rivers. This course will help prepare responders deal with floating boat fires.

4. Maritime – Rules of the Road and Navigation
5. Marine Firefighting Vessels
6. Special Purpose Vessels for River Navigation

8. Firefighting Crew Positions
9. Marina Hazards and Firefighting
10. Handling Marine Vessel Fires

Practical Objectives:
1. Safe operations of Marine Firefighting Vessels
2. proper boat placement
3. operations of fire pump
4. extinguishment of vessel fire

1. Classroom – none
2. Practical Evolutions
     a. Firefighter 1 & 2 or equivalent training
     b. MO Boaters License
     c. Swimming Ability

For students attending from outside the host agency, to participate in the practical skill day, you will need to bring a Marine Firefighting Vessel from your agency.
