School Bus Rescue is an essential part of extrication, but courses are difficult to obtain and require the acquisition of a school bus. LETS will travel to the host agency and provide the needed resources for hosting departments to develop extrication skills and techniques on a school bus, using a combination of equipment provided by LETS.

Course Objectives: Define a commercial vehicle, Describe the Four types of school buses, Describe the Safety features of school bus design, explain stabilization and resting positions of school buses after a collision, describe weight categories and different types of cab construction, Stabilize School bus in different positions; Gain access to a bus from the front window, side, rear and top of the bus; Use electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed

Student Pre-requisites: Student Pre-requisites: Student must have successfully completed a Vehicle Rescue Technician course or Fire Fighter II course.

Prerequisites: Student must have successfully completed a Vehicle Rescue Technician course or Fire Fighter II course.

Vendor provides the following: Undamaged School bus to cut up, Rescue jacks, Air Bags, Hydraulic tools, sawzall x 4, rotary cutoff saw, all blades and consumables
