Full Description: Class Vendor: This class is available for contracted delivery from MU Fire Rescue Training Institute - MUFRTI. Contracted Price: $1600.

This course is designed to give participants working knowledge of the OSHA standard to facilitate operations with industry and other agencies involved with confined space rescues. This class meets Awareness Level requirements outlined in NFPA 1670, Standard for Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents, 2014 Edition. Topics include: nonentry rescue operations, recognizing the need for confined space search and rescue, initiating contact and establishing communications with victims when possible, recognizing and identifying the hazards associated with nonentry confined space emergencies, recognizing confined spaces, performing nonentry retrieval, implementing the emergency response system, and implementing site control and scene management.

Course Objectives: This course shall prepare students to meet the requirements for operating at the awareness service levels as outlined in Chapter 7 of NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents.
