This 24 hour course is designed to develop the minimum knowledge and skills
necessary for public safety divers to safely recovery victims and automobiles from water using advanced diving equipment and skills for operations in emergency response diving.
The focus of this course is how to safely conduct recovery operations as they apply to underwater crime scenes and investigations. Participants will learn how to apply PSD technologies and concepts, the use of specialized lifting equipment to recover automobiles, aircraft, and boats; and practice a variety of lifting techniques during
practical, hands-on exercises at an open water site.  

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will have developed the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct light salvage and recovery diving using equipment similar to those used in the class while conducting Emergency Response Diving. The students will also have developed the knowledge and skills necessary to dive using light recovery diving equipment under conditions similar to or better than those encountered in the open water portion of the course.

Resources Required
Host agency provides the following: Dive site no deeper than 40 feet with limited visibility, Classroom, Breathing Air Fill Station, help coordinating a vehicle to be cleaned and sunk.    

Student provides the following: BCD, Scuba Drysuit, Regulator, Fins, Mask, Redundant Air Source (Doubles or pony) any department specific dive gear the student would like to be trained on. If student wishes to be certified in drysuit Operations, The student needs to supply a operational scuba drysuit for use in the class.    

Vendor provides the following: Full Face Mask and Communication Equipment, Lift Bags
