Class Vendor: This class is available for contracted delivery from MU Fire Rescue Training Institute - MUFRTI. Contracted Price: $8925.

Due to a lack of dedicated Truck Companies, Engine Operations are usually the main focus of the suburban and rural fire service. Just because your department doesn't have a dedicated Truck Company, it doesn't mean these vital fire-ground operations don't need to be accomplished at a structure fire. Who performs these operations on your fire scene?  You still need to search, vent, force doors, and much more whether you have a dedicated truck company or not—you must get after it!  This class will focus on the Truck Company skills every firefighter should be proficient at performing. Multiple hands-on teaching stations will improve your skills and competence at performing "Truck Work" at your next fire. Structural Firefighting Turnout Gear is Required.

Course Objectives: Forcible entry and egress
Ventilation techniques for horizontal and vertical ventilation
Saw use and handling
Hand tool selection
Search techniques for all size companies and crews
Ground Ladder use, deployment and skills
Coordinating with the attack crew—what to look for and communicate
Softening the building for interior crews
