An initial rapid response hazmat size-up for company officers.

Course Objectives:
The student, given various examples of different containers, shall identify each container by name and specification and identify the typical contents by name and hazard class.

The student, given various examples of different railcars, shall identify each by name and specification and identify the typical contents by name and hazard class.

The student, given various examples of different cargo tanks, shall identify each container by name and specification and identify the typical contents by name and hazard class.

The student, given a hazmat/WMD incident, shall collect, interpret, and communicate hazard and response information not available from the current edition of the ERG, or an SDS.

The student, shall identify and explain (relating to size-up) the types, advantages, and limitations, of hazard and response information available from each of the following resources: Monitoring, databases, and reference manuals.

Prerequisites: Minimum Hazardous Materials Awareness
