Class Vendor: This class is available for contracted delivery from MU Fire Rescue Training Institute - MUFRTI Contracted Price: $2500.

This course is designed to meet portions of NFPA 1002, Fire Apparatus Driver Operator Professional Qualifications. Topics will focus on the various types of pumps used on fire apparatus including shifting mechanisms, primers, relief valves and controls. Pump safety and operations will be covered, as well as, basic pump maintenance. The class is taught in a combination lecture, demonstration and hands-on format.

Course Objectives: The student, upon completion of this course, shall be able to:
describe the roles and responsibilities of a driver/operator;
describe the chapters within NFPA 1901;
describe the types of pumps;
describe pump performance ratings;
identify the various pump controls, given a pump panel;
position a fire apparatus with pump; and,
demonstrate pumping water through a fire service pump on an apparatus
so that all of the critical skills are achieved on the performance skills sheet.
