Full Description
This 6-day course is designed to facilitate comprehension, analysis and implementation of the facts and science given the circumstances associated with risk-based response/decision-making. This scenario based course is intended to facilitate students gaining and sharing the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively make and verbalize justifiable risk-based decisions and sharing those outcomes with others involved in the response decision making process. Throughout the course, students work on scenario based activities relating to the development of science based incident related information that meets the needs of the community and is justifiable and compatible with the current and emerging standard of care.

Prerequisites
Incident Command System (ICS)-100-level and ICS-200-level training. Preferred courses are Q0462 and Q0463, available through NFA Online. Chief’s signature on the application attests that the applicant has completed this required training.

It is highly recommend that individuals have completed the NFA's Chemistry for Emergency Response course prior to attendance.

Selection criteria
Experienced Hazardous Materials Technician Level Responders and related Department of Defense and National Guard CST, and U.S. Coast Guard personnel that may be responsible for interpreting and implementing activities related to the facts, science, and circumstances of the incident in order to implement a risk based response.
