Brief Description: Approved Missouri Division of Fire Safety Fire Investigator Training Course

Full Description: This course addresses the requirements for Fire Investigator found in NFPA 1033, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator, 2014 Edition.

Prerequisites: Student must have a minimum of three years’ experience in some phase of fire service, fire prevention, fire investigation or criminal investigation. Experience may be in the public or private sector. A letter of recommendation for course attendance and subsequent certification is required from the applicant’s supervisor, listing the applicant’s job description and length of service.
Completion of classes in the areas of Fire Behavior, Building Construction, and Hazardous Materials Awareness.
