Full Description
Many chemical substances have necessary and beneficial uses but present considerable risks to the public and to the environment if they are uncontrolled or uncontained.

This course will prepare first responders to take appropriate initial actions at hazardous materials spills or releases and weapons of mass destruction incidents. This edition provides fire and emergency services personnel with the information necessary to meet the Chapter 7, 9.2, and 9.6 Job Performance Requirements (JPRs) of NFPA 470, Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Standard for Responders, 2022 Edition.

Additionally, this course addresses the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training requirements found in Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.120, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and the Department of Transportation regulations in Title 49 CFR Parts 100-185, Hazardous Materials Regulations.
